সরকারী কাজে সংরক্ষণ কি প্রকৃত পিছিয়ে পড়া মানুষের সাহায্যে লাগে ?
Do Govt. job reservations for Backward Classes really help the Needy ?

  1. Govt. jobs are reserved for the backwards for mainly the reason of keeping the chair for that group who are authorising such resevation which is nothing but a type of 'paie debar rajniti' . Who bothers whether they help the needy or not? If we or a few of us really bother, can we do anything either this way or that way?
Who is needy and who is not, in what way, is decided at their birth and unless he accepts that condition, his living becomes more sad but his need always remains.

  2. There are many people in India who are too week to help themselves. The Jarawas, a tribe in Andaman Islands, still uses bows and arrows. But their arrows do not have the stabilizers at the rear end because they have not yet mastered the technic. Or should we say that their civilzation is still that primitive. They, along with many others, require help from the govt in the form of reservation for their survival.
We also completely agree with you that it has a lot to do with "keeping their chair".

  3. Same reasoning applies here also. If the tribal people like Jarwas in Andaman are important enough for election and candidate selection, they will get resevation. If not they should accept the principle of 'survival of the fittest.' Yes, you want such backward and poor-in-every-way people are helped by the society . But this want is only a wishful thinking without any reasonable analysis of ways to implement it . In any case your want for Govt. to help them is against the democratic principle. Govt. actually helps them whose help they need for their survival.
