'জ্ঞান যেথা নুক্ত...' এ কবিগুরুর এক বিখ্যাত কবিতার একটা লাইনের তিনটে শব্দ । কিন্তু বোঝান হয়েছে জ্ঞান সূর্য্যালোকের মত খোলা ও বাধাহীন হতে হবে । তাহলে তা জানানর যে প্রক্রিয়া মানে শিক্ষাক্ষেত্রে কোন ভাবেই কারুর জন্য কোন ধরণের বাধা নিষেধ বা কারুর জন্য বেশী খোলা দরজা থাকা উচিৎ নয় । বিশেষ করে উচ্চশিক্ষাতে তো নয়ই । এখানে মেধা, শিক্ষাগত যোগ্যতা , আরো শিক্ষা করবার ইচ্ছা , শিক্ষা দান করবার ইচ্ছা , সামাজিক সচেতনতা ও এধরণের গুণ বিচার্য্য হতে পারে তবে পিছিয়ে পড়া বা এগিয়ে যাওয়া মানুষের মধ্যে এ সব গুণের যদি তারতম্য থাকে তা বিচার করা যেতে পারে তবে এই অবস্থা কোনভাবেই বিচার্য্য নয় । তাই এ ধরণের সংরক্ষণ সমাজের ভাল না করে খারাপ করে অনেক বেশী ।
ReplyDeleteতবে আজকাল টাকাপয়সা থাকা না থাকা টাও একভাবে সংরক্ষণের সৃষ্টি করছে । যার টাকা আছে তার উচ্চশিক্ষার যোগ্যতা মিলে যাচ্ছে , আর যার নেই তার উপরের গুণ থাকা সত্ত্বেও উচ্চশিক্ষার সুযোগ মিলছে না । এও একরকম সংরক্ষণ যা কোনমতেই কাম্য নয় ।
Are you suggesting that there must be some way to ensure that those who are talented but have no money for education, should be looked after ? In other words are you suggesting that a reservation for the intelligent but poor students should be there?

ReplyDeleteI do not consider myself to be knowledgable enough to suggest any way. I already mentioned knowledge and availability of knowledge through teaching should not have any restriction in any way whether by cast or financial. However, in higher education where talent and future return to the society should be the only criterian for admission, an indirect resevation has come in in the form of expenditure and availability of such amount. Hence many deserving candidates are not getting the chance not being able to provide finance wheras not-at-all deserving or a-little deserving candidates are getting admission . It is agreed higher education is very costly but selection should be on merit. After selection , it will be looked into who can afford and who cannot and he, who cannot, should not be excluded but State must provide for his studies. Even full payments, part payments, no payments, future payments and all such avenues can be considered. But only merited must get admission in higher education and selection should not at all be related to the candidates' ability to pay. We must make sure not-qualified according to merit never get chance of admission in higher education only because he can afford to pay.
ReplyDeleteThere should be a symultaneous thinking to separate higher education from main stream of job-hunting as far as practicable. For getting a job an educational degree should not be a must. Students of higher education should not at all look after only for the pay packet they can get soon after finishing
education.
