আন্দোলন হিংসাত্মক না হলে শাসক ফিরে তাকায় না কেন?

Why agitations in India must be made violent for Authorities to take note ?

There is a peculiar midset among the ruling and administrating class to ingnore any agitation till such time it becomes violent. The West Bengal govt has not bothered to address the Singur situation because they know that the political parties involed sweared by the path of Ahimsa! But for the Gujjer problem the Rajasthan CM had to sit across the table with in a week as it had become violent. This sends a very dangerous message to the people to take law in to their own hands.

আমাদের দেশে যে কোনো আন্দোলন যতক্ষণ না হিংসাত্মক হয়ে ওঠে, শাসক ও আমলারা মাথা ঘামান না । সিঙ্গুর নিয়ে যেন শাসকের কিছুই যায় আসে না । জমিটা হাতিয়ে নেওয়া গেছে, ব্যাস । এই আন্দোলন যে এখনও হিংসাত্মক হয়ে ওঠে নি তাই কি এই আচরণ ? অন্য দিকে রাজস্থানে গুজ্জরদের আনেদোলন (যার যৌক্তিকতাও বিতর্কিত) হিংসাত্মক ছিল বলেই কি মূখ্যমন্ত্রী বাধ্য হয়েছিলেন এক সপ্তাহের মধ্যে কিছু একটা করতে ? দেশে এ রকম ঘটতে থাকলে মানুষের কাছে সাঙ্ঘাতিক এক বার্তা পৌঁছাচ্ছে যে যে কোনো কাজের জন্যই আইন নিজের হাতে তুলে নিলে না নিলে এ দেশে কাজ হয় না ।

  1. একটা প্রবাদ আছে 'না চ্যাঁচালে মাও শিশুকে দুধ দেয় না '। কিছু পেতে গেলে তোমাকে তো যার কাছ থেকে চাইছো তাকে বোঝাতে হবে । যদি তার বোঝার মত মানসিকতা থাকে বা সে যদি নিজেই বুঝতে চায় তবে শুধু বোঝালেই কাজ হওয়া উচিৎ মানে অহিংস আন্দোলন হলেই হবে । তবে আমরা সবাই স্বার্থপর , একে অপরের কথা একেবারেই বুঝতে চাই না তাই জোর করেই বোঝাতে হয় । আর জোর করতে গেলেই তা হিংসাত্মক হয়ে যায় ।

    In that case what is the use of of "Peaceful movement" in the present situation? Is Gandhigiri only limited to Films? Does it ever work?

  3. Just the opposite. I consider man, like all other animals, is selfish and intolerent by instinct . But he does not have the capability to survive alone. With his high level of intelligence, he analysed and found he has a chance to survive individually better if he lives in a group i.e. collectively . So, he has devised family, society and many such collective institutions. However, to live collectively for even your own individual survival, we must give more priority to collective interest than our own individual interest. In no case should we be sacrificing a collective interest for our own selfish interest . Alas, we still keep on doing the same thing i.e. sacrifice the collective interest as soon as we find such action will serve our own selfish interest better.
    We must as a whole understand , practice , implement and follow rules in such a way that a collective interest cannot be sacrificed by anyone because of his own selfish interest . We can, then , deleberate and list our collective interests and the laws to maintain such interests. Such collective interests and laws will not also be static and will keep on being amended as the situation demands. For amending, there will be movement by a group of understanding people and such movement will be obviously peaceful and non-violent. In fact many Gandhi-like people are absolutely necessary to ensure that Gandhigiri is the only way for our collective survival and individually we cannot survive.
    Till that time we will have to be forceful to make others understand our needs , whether selfish or collective, as now we mostly understand and work for our own selfish interest which is detrimental to us collectively as well as for every body of us individually .
